Would he have extended the same logic to reasoning as well? I am not sure but let’s dig in.

People are vary about the use of ChatGPT for not only retrieving information but also doing logical reasoning, something that was possible only by humans.

↳ They fear that people will lose
↳ Creativity becomes predictable.
↳ Decisions become over-optimized leading to outputs which lack emotion, originality or even effectiveness.
↳ Communication feels robotic.
↳ Learning slows down because you’re not thinking but only prompting.

I am a heavy user of AI and I would agree to the above only to an extent.

Applying the contrarian view, AI has enabled me to learn more things faster.

Some of the concepts where I got stuck, couldn’t have been solved because access to human expertise (teachers) is expensive and not very scalable.

Also, I view this not only as good vs bad debate but as a survival threat itself.

For knowledge workers, not using AI will relegate one to the stone age.

AI is not perfect but it enhances productivity like anything.

Leveraging it at a personal and organization level is already a critical differentiator.
